Green mountain national Forest snowshoeing.

Hello Vermonters! I live right over the border in East Central NY and I'm planning on making a little day trip to the Green mountain national Forest to try some snowshoeing this weekend. I'm a beginner who hasn't done it at all. I've tried to look up information but I'm having a hard time finding specific info that I need.

Anyone have any specific recommendations for a trail hike that is of moderate difficulty? Preferably I'd like a trail that is a somewhat out of the way (not on a busy ski resort or something.) bonus points for nearby or on the way snow shoe rentals.
