What to do with half burnt logs when you are leaving the next day?

I’m on BLM land and this stubborn fat log refused to burn all the way through. I’m crossing state lines tomorrow so I don’t want to take it with me. If I leave it in the pit, the next person could just add it to their fire just fine, but I don’t know if that violates the LNT policy. What should I do here?
