Where to Find a Birth Certificate from Gdańsk/Danzig?

Hi everyone,

After 9 months of searching, I finally discovered that my great-grandmother was born in Danzig, Germany (now Gdańsk, Poland) in 1923. I’ve been trying to figure out how to locate her birth certificate or baptism records, but so far nothing I’ve found online has been helpful.

I came across an email address apgda@gdansk.ap.gov.pl that someone suggested contacting and I’ve sent a message, but I’m not even sure exactly where it goes or if it’s the right place to ask.

Has anyone here tried reaching out to this address or knows of another way to access records from Danzig/Gdańsk from that time?

Thanks in advance :)
