scared to wipe my old phone, as new phone shows less photos on local storage than old phone.

got a new iphone, but I’m anxious to wipe my old one because I noticed my old phone seems to be storing more photos and videos locally than the new one.

when I look at icloud storage, the two phones are identical. same amount of photos, messages, etc

however if you go to settings > general > about, there’s also a section that shows how many photos, videos, etc stored on the device, and this is where the discrepancy is. my OLD phone shows 35,000 photos, but my new phone only shows 34,000. it seems like 1000 photos are missing. like I said though, icloud is identical and my camera roll itself only shows 34,000

I can return my old phone to my carrier for money back, so I need to wipe and return it as soon as possible. is it possible I didn’t successfully back up/transfer some photos?
