Why is buying furniture online still so frustrating in North America?

NSFW

Hi, I live in Canada. I love home interiors and shop for furniture online a lot. But honestly, the process is more exhausting than it should be — too many similar options, unclear differences, and a lot of second-guessing.

I’m a software developer, and I know this isn’t just my problem — a lot of people run into the same frustrations. I’m trying to understand what parts of online furniture shopping in Canada drain the most time and mental energy, and whether there’s a better way to approach it.

If you had a similar frustration or felt exhausted while shopping furniture online, would you please spare 5 min for me? I'd like to learn from your real experience. It’s not marketing-related, I swear!

Thanks so much — happy to share what I learn back with the community.
