Why is it mostly women visiting these charlatans and fake babas like Dhirendra Garg, Asaram etc?
Yes there are men too but an overwhelming majority of the crowd is always women.
Is the reality of life so harsh that people want to anchor to something even if it's fake just to escape the reality and absurdity of life?
Another example that comes to mind is that of Haryana where women never used to celebrate Karva Chauth, applied sindoor or anything like that. No agrarian caste community in Haryana celebrated it, but then movies started pushing this culture and women started hearing about it. They'll hear from some other women that you have to keep fast, then some years later someone will tell you have to buy new clothes on karva chauth and so on and so forth new rituals keep on adding which don't serve the society.
So the question is why women are more andhvishwasi than men?
