Waste Drawer Indicator fails calibration

I am about to throw my 2.5 month old LR 5 pro out the dang window. The waste drawer sensors will not calibrate, and every single time it cycles (manually of course 🙄), it says waste drawer full and flashes red on the display. I have done all of the troubleshooting listed on their site to recalibrate the bin indicator, but it fails every time. I have cleaned the LR, and cleaned it again, and wiped the sensor repeatedly, with zero improvement. There are like 5 tiny nuggets in the bag, and it says FULL. What am I doing wrong?!
