Oppressive Projectiles

Is it just me or do the projectiles in this game feel WAY more oppressive than other fighting games? Like it's much harder to close the distance, ESPECIALLY against Caitlyn. I may just be bad but I swear SF6, Guilty Gear; etc aren't nearly as oppressive with projectiles.
