I need help finding online students

Hi everyone, hoping to get some insight from people who tutor A-Levels online or have hired tutors before.

Bit of context first, I've never actually studied or lived in the UK which is where I'm hitting a wall at the moment.

My background:

• Did Cambridge A-Levels and got 4 A*s
• Nearly full marks in A2 Maths, strong results across the sciences
• 97th percentile UCAT, got multiple medicine offers
• Now studying Medicine in Sydney

I'd really like to start tutoring UK students online, mainly in Maths and Sciences. The time difference actually works perfectly – evenings in the UK are my mornings here, so I'd have solid availability.

The problem is:

• Most tutoring platforms seem to want you to be at a UK uni
• Never having been to the UK means I've got no local network – no connections with schools, parents, word of mouth, etc.
• Not really sure how overseas tutors build trust or even get visible to UK students in the first place

So, for anyone who tutors A-Levels or has hired tutors:

• How did you actually find your first students?
• What's the main route people use – platforms, Reddit, Discord, Facebook groups, something else?
• Is tutoring UK students from overseas genuinely viable in the long term, or are there specific challenges I should be aware of?
• Is there a Facebook or WhatsApp group that I can join
