Cellulitis Advice

female. 29 years old. 5’1 115 lbs. non smoker. generally very healthy. medications are birth control and spirnolactin for pcos.

i have cellulitis on my big toe, it’s been red and swollen for about 2.5 weeks, i did 7 days of an antibiotic but it made no difference so my doctor started me on another antibiotic for 5 days, i’m on day 2 today. last night my toe was hurting so much it felt like it was burning and i almost went to the ER but by the morning it was no longer in pain. today it hasn’t been hurting at all but it’s still red and swollen. my doctor told me to come back as soon as i’m done this round of antibiotics for a follow up which will be monday morning, but i’m wondering if i should just head to the ER tomorrow instead of waiting in case these antibiotics don’t work either?
