Intermittent bright red blood with normal colonoscopy 2 weeks ago — hemorrhoids or flare?

Hi everyone 19F — I have ulcerative colitis and am on Humira (recently spaced to every other week). I had a colonoscopy with biopsies about 2 weeks ago and everything came back normal — no active inflammation and no dysplasia. I was super excited bc I thought I was officially in remission for the last 6 months.

Over the past week, I’ve had a few episodes of bright red blood, but it’s:

• On the outside of the stool / on wiping
• Not mixed into the stool
• Not happening every bowel movement (there were several days with no blood)

My stools are otherwise formed and normal, and I’m not having urgency, diarrhea, cramping, or increased frequency.

I have had a little mucus at times. I did eat some spicy/processed snack food before one of the episodes, not sure if that matters because I ate like that in reemission and i thought the bleeding went away.

Has anyone had hemorrhoids or rectal irritation cause this kind of intermittent bleeding pattern even with UC? Just trying to understand if this sounds more like a local issue vs early flare. I am messaging my GI as well. Im just super scare which is not helping the stress of UC... please LMK!
