Can i take a puppy to the emergency vet even if I’m unable to pay for them?

Recently my family found a stray puppy that we’ve been caring for until we are able to find him a good home, but yesterday evening i noticed him not running out to greet me when i checked on him, i went to his little crate area where he usually sleeps and i saw him laying there and he looked very weak and ill, he wouldn’t respond when i walked up, he was laying flat on his side. I immediately set up an area with soft blankets and a heating pad and left him his meal and his water. I checked on him hourly but he still looks very tired and weak, when i lifted him to his heating pad, he urinated on himself and he felt very limp. I have hopes that maybe with treatment he’ll have a fighting chance to get better since he has lifted his head to look at me, but he lays right back down. It’s been about 5 hours since he’s been in this state and i hate to see it, i unfortunately cannot afford vet care for this puppy as i didn’t plan to keep him, but i don’t want to just wait it out. Can i take this puppy to the vets and ask if they are able to treat him? even if i don’t have the funds? if anyone has any advice or anywhere i can call to help this puppy it’d be greatly appreciated. I’m out of a job at the moment and don’t have a working car to drive him anywhere.
