I feel like I bombed an interview and don’t know how to move forward
I had an interview a few days ago and can’t stop thinking about how poorly it went. From the get go, it was awkward when I slightly stumbled over my opening statement. I then didn’t know how to respond to a certain question and gave an incoherent, shallow answer. Meanwhile, I’m in a library and the intercom comes on during the interview...
I started to gain some momentum in the middle, but I still felt like I was rambling and sounding like I was trying to come up with at least somewhat cohesive answers on the fly. It would be one thing if I was just winging the interview, but I spent a couple of days preparing and it just felt like the house of cards was crumbling from the get-go. Almost like the parks and rec episode where Leslie has that laughable rally…
I’m just super embarrassed from having to think about the fact that I might have messed up that badly… especially for a job that actually resonated with me. I haven’t been able to even hear myself talk for the past few days because I know that’s the same voice that appeared in that interview, and it’s rough thinking about continuing to apply for jobs.
I don’t know what to do because I feel like no one could have done as poorly as me. I’m just so ashamed of myself and wish that I wasn’t a joke for once. I’m terribly sorry for venting, but I’ve struggled to share this with anyone due to how much I cringe from just thinking about it
