What is EPR in CPAP, and should beginners actually use it?

Need real advice from CPAP users

I was googling about CPAP comfort settings
because a family member is about to start CPAP therapy.

While searching, I came across this blog about EPR (Expiratory Pressure Relief):
https://respbuy.com/what-is-epr/

It explains that EPR lowers pressure slightly when you breathe out
So it feels more natural and less forced.

The explanation makes sense,
But I want to hear from real users before changing any settings.

My questions are:

• Did EPR actually make CPAP more comfortable for you?
• Is EPR mainly for beginners, or do long-term users also keep it on?
• Can using EPR reduce therapy effectiveness or increase AHI?
• What EPR level worked best for you (1, 2, or 3)?
• Is EPR enough for comfort, or is BiPAP sometimes a better option?

I don’t want to experiment blindly.

Just trying to understand
whether EPR is a safe comfort feature
or something that should only be used carefully.

Would really appreciate real experiences and honest opinions.
