"To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure" Albus Dumbledore

RANT/VENT

Death is literally the most natural thing about life, yet society treats it like an evil taboo you’re not even allowed to question. We’re trusted to decide our careers, relationships, beliefs, where we live, and when we retire but somehow deciding when or how we die is off-limits. Why? I’m not saying this out of depression or because I hate life. I’m questioning why autonomy suddenly disappears at the one decision that’s guaranteed to happen anyway. If death is inevitable, why is even discussing personal control over it treated as dangerous or immoral? It feels less like concern for people and more like society being deeply uncomfortable with individuals having absolute agency over their own existence.
