Career shift advice
Hey everyone, I am 21M and currently working at a car dealership in NC this is my first job outside of the USMC and I definitely enjoy sales, been here since may of last year and have consistently brought favorable results to both my pockets and management expectations. I’m confident I would get promoted to finance manager within this year but I am now looking to get into tech sales since the hours and commute I am currently working (and would work given a promotion) will not cooperate well with the life I plan on building. Simply put I am getting burnt out and would love a change of pace. From my understanding AE roles (SaaS or similar) at a decent company are pretty hard to get into especially regarding my lack of experience , however, that’s where I see myself succeeding even more than at a car dealership. Am I sane for this? And how in the world do I get started, I don’t want to fall into the hole of starting as an SDR and getting locked or starting a job hopping cycle. Really looking for advice and maybe I left some info out as I’m writing this at 12AM but would love to hear some input, thanks in advance.
