Another foreplay in marriage post…
I’ll try to keep this short! Just wanting a discussion.
Wife and I just had another child. We’re obviously open to life. We’re active Catholics that are trying to be good examples to our children.
We weren’t for a while though, just not ready. So we practiced NFP and it worked great for us before we decided it was time.
I see people talk about how oral isn’t allowed to completion because it’s against life. But what about NFP?
With that… does that mean EVERY single time a couple wants to engage sexually, they have to be ready to conceive?
Before a woman gives birth, a couple can have sex just to potentially induce labor.
What if the couple just consensually wants to be intimate with non-PIV all the way to completion, but are still open to life?
We are confused. It didn’t take much both times for us. We want more children, but we’d also like to be intimate with one another and have a little time to adjust to our new lives with 2 before getting pregnant again.
I’ve spoken to a few priests and it still seems like a gray. 2 said that it strictly needs to be completed with PIV. The other 2 said to use my best judgment and as long as we’re on the same page, it’s not an issue.
Appreciate the conversation. God bless!
