Advice? Next years Courses
Hello everyone! I’m assuming those of you who are not seniors had to go through course selection for next year right about this time as well, so I would like your opinions on my course registration.
For starters, I am a junior currently aspiring to major in Aerospace Engineering and potentially a minor in Mathematics or Computer Science at an excellent university, such as Georgia Tech or Purdue. The only issue is my course list: I took one AP in my sophomore year because of a stupid rule, and I am currently taking 3.
I have shown people the courses I want to take next year, and I have been told I will burn out immediately. Is taking AP Calc BC, AP Physics C: Mech, AP Bio, AP Lit, and AP Euro a rigorous course load I should avoid? Most of my peers stress that with my job, the robotics club I am running, and all the clubs I participate in, I will fall into an early-life crisis and go insane. Is this true?
I don’t know, I want to do well and take at least 3/4 of the AP classes offered to be somewhat competitive at these schools, but if it’s gonna kill my motivation, I think it will be smarter to hang up the towel and set my eyes on a regular college.
Offered AP courses:
Chemistry (currently taking) APUSH (4 on exam 😓) GOV/GOPO (Taking) Lang & Comp (Taking) Bio Euro Psych Calc AB Calc BC Phys 1 Phys C: Mech AP Art History (Not yet confirmed, but potentially Comp. Sci. Principles)
Current Stats: 3.86 unweighted GPA/4.445 Weighted GPA SAT (710 r&w/660 math) 1370 working towards 1520+ ACT taken in 8th grade (18 lol), hope for a 33+ with studying
Thank you for taking the time to help me! I appreciate it greatly!
