My Best Friend Tried to Get me Drunk

I am writing this for advice on whether i am being over- dramatic or not. For context, i am in high school and participate in activities like drinking, smoking, and vaping. Which aren’t good but i use it to cope with anxiety and depression. About a month ago, one of my friends that i had become close with recently told me that my best friend of 4 years had tried to make a plan to get me drunk.

i asked her a million questions about what happened specifically. she also told me that this friend of 4 years had looked through my private chats with another person. i will call the best friend of for years (f) lauren, and the friend i got close with recently (f)sadie. Sadie told me this over call before new years, i had plans for lauren to spend new years with one of my family friends and my boyfriend, josh. after i got told this information i immediately inquired to my boyfriend on what i should do about it. josh told me i should ask lauren about what happened without revealing that sadie told me. i did that and my best friend told me that sadie was making it up and it was all sadie’s plan to do this. more context, the plan of getting me drunk and looking through my phone happened at a sleepover before i was officially dating my boyfriend. lauren said that sadie wanted to look through the chats to see if there was anything in between me and the male i had been speaking with. sadie had been intimate with him before. the male in question is slightly older than us and i see him as a brother figure, if lauren or sadie were to look through the messages they wouldn’t find anything.

After hearing all of this i ask sadie about it again. she explains how that she knew i didn’t like said male, and had seen me go through our saved in chats in front of her.

Due to said getting me drunk i also asked both sadie and lauren why each other would do that. lauren said it was because sadie wanted to see if i had anything going on with the guy, and sadie said it was because lauren thought i was hiding something from her.

Lauren is a plus sized girl that wearing baggy clothes and has a slightly rebellious clothing style, although she hates smoking of any kind and only drinks occasionally. she has projected insecurities on both me and sadie. talking about the smallest things and picking apart our appearance and clothing. she has also expressed jealousy over me and sadie becoming close so quickly and regularly talks about how she thinks sadie is a hoe and bad influence, then treats her like a friend to her face. i do not like this behavior and do not condone it.

sadie is a taller skinny girl with black hair, she regularly wears crop tops and big jewelry to school. sadie has a loud open personality, which has gotten her into beef with other students. she regularly smokes and has sex with multiple dudes. i am ok with these things and have been on a couple hook-ups where she is in the next room also getting some.

Lauren admitted to looking through my phone a bit later but still was telling the same story about how it was sadie’s idea to get me drunk. lauren had expressed resentment to sadie and would immediately tell me if sadie did something like that. the fact that she didn’t make me immediately suspicious of her.

i dropped it for a while and when i brought it back up i wanted answers. i was done being left in the dark. when i did, lauren kept changing her story, saying it went from both her and sadie to making the plan to then only her. sadie told me it was only a plan and nothing happened, that she convinced lauren to drop it in 12 hrs. when we drank i had no idea that they almost tried to take advantage of me, as this happened way before new years and sadie told me right before. i didn’t confront lauren at new years and waited until after. after lauren admitted to what she had done, i told her i wanted to take a break from our friendship. she still sits at our lunch table on account of sadie keeping a relationship with her because sadie got grounded and uses lauren’s phone to communicate with people. sadie had been grounded for a while but will hopefully get ungrounded soon.

i am worried about if sadie will act like she takes lauren’s side because of the phone, and if im being over dramatic.
