Looking for advice on finding students as a CS tutor

Hi everyone,

I’m a graduate student in Computer Science from Purdue University (4.0 GPA) with industry experience as a Software Engineer at CVS Health. I’ve been helping students informally with core CS topics such as data structures, algorithms, and programming in Python, Java, C, and C++.

I’m looking to learn how other tutors here find students online in a sustainable and ethical way, especially for technical subjects. I’m specifically interested in platforms similar to Wyzant where tutors can proactively reach out to students. Unfortunately, I can’t use Wyzant anymore due to an off-platform transaction issue.

At the moment, I have 3–4 students, but that’s not enough to fully support me. I’d really appreciate any advice on platforms, strategies, or approaches that have worked well for others to consistently find more students, preferably free strategies.

Thanks in advance for any insights.
