i-dle – Mono (ft. skaiwater)

Just wanted to share this! If you listen to K-pop, I thought this would be a great song for us who enjoy GL.

[Romanized:] Lyrics

Ooh-ooh

Mm, ah, ooh

What they play, that all don't matter

You're the beat that's breaking through

I's the meaning that hits louder

We're 'bouta tune in to you

Don't let the noise get in your way

You're the rhythm they can't replace

Ijeneun meorin myuteuhae

Simjang bakdong noraehae

You're from the right

Or from the left

Whether East or West

Whether straight or gay

Every day and night

Dance to your real vibe

Turn the effects down

Let it all fade out, play the whole world in Mono

La-la-la-la-la-da

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

La-la-la-la-la-da

'Cause love is louder in Mono

La-la-la-la-la-da

La-la-la-la-la

La-la-la-la-la-la-da-la

Turn the music up

Let my rhythm play loud

Love and dance in my house

Baby we could take the party

Outside to everyone

Take a chance on me

You dance just like everyone else

And I know you think just like myself

You're from the right

Or from the left

Whether East or West

Whether straight or gay

Every day and night

Dance to your real vibe

Turn the effects down

Let it all fade out, play the whole world in Mono

La-la-la-la-la-da

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

La-la-la-la-la-da

'Cause love is louder in Mono

La-la-la-la-la-da

La-la-la-la-la

La-la-la-la-la-la-da-la

'Cause love is louder in Mono

We blame, forget, regret but who do you hear?

The lyrics couldn't reach you

We blame, forget, regret let's turn it all off

You know you're born to love

(La-la-la-la-la-la-da)

(La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)

(La-la-la-la-la-la-da)

(La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)

(La-la-la-la-la-la-da)

(La-la-la-la-la-la)

My favorite quote from here is “If you love yourself, you can love anyone”

While there have been other songs in Kpop that might have LGBTQ+ themes, I particularly love how (G)I-DLE explicitly use the word "gay." I'm concerned music shows might ban their performance, like they've done with other controversial songs.
