I’m honestly fed up with the so-called ergonomic chair brands in India.

Almost every brand out there, Sleepwell, Frido, and a bunch of others, is basically importing the same chairs from China and selling them here like they’ve designed or engineered something revolutionary. Nothing about these chairs feels original. Same design language, same parts, same mesh, same mechanisms. That orange auto lumbar support is on half the chairs in the market. The mesh looks identical across brands. Even the adjustments and frames feel copy pasted.

These companies market themselves like they’re changing the Indian chair market, but in reality they’re just middlemen with aggressive branding. Slap a logo on a generic chair, mark it up, and call it innovation.

The only brands that feel somewhat authentic to me are Featherlite and maybe PelicanWork. At least they seem to have some actual design intent or manufacturing control. The rest are basically the same chair sold under different names.

What really pushed me over the edge was seeing SuperErgo’s premium 60k chair and then finding what looks like the exact same chair, literally 1:1, for around 20k from Vaseat. Same structure, same mesh, same everything. I’d bet money they’re all sourcing it from the same manufacturer. Same goes for MRC Drogo and several other brands I’ve seen. Once you notice it, you can’t unsee it.

At this point, it feels like the Indian ergonomic chair market is just one factory feeding 20 brands, all pretending to be innovators. If anyone knows a brand that actually designs, tests, and builds their own chairs and is not just a rebranded import, I’d genuinely love to hear about it.
