I have dealt with cold sores since I was about 14 years old. Since then, I have probably had a cold sore almost every month. I was spared a few months. My cold sores would emerge from almost any trigger: chapped lips, sun exposure, using lipsticks or glosses, water intake, stress, illness, weather, and seasonal changes. Literally anything! It was humiliating, depressing, and shameful. I am a teacher, so I would wear a mask every time one popped up to avoid the dreaded question from my 8-year-old students, “What’s on your lip?”

This past summer, I got the worst coldsore of my life while being on vacation with my boyfriend’s family. I know this is purely anecdotal and I’m not claiming this is a cure or that it will work for everyone. I just wanted to share my experience because I know how isolating and frustrating frequent cold sores can be.

I’m curious if anyone else here has tried mushroom complex supplements or noticed changes in outbreaks with immune-support supplements. If not, maybe this helps someone feel less alone or gives them something to look into with their doctor.
