Something I’ve noticed working with Tier-1 publications:

They often won’t include a link right away.
You usually get a brand mention instead.

That’s normal, not a rejection.

If the site isn’t well established,
The founder isn’t widely known,
Or you’re not a regular contributor,
editors tend to start with mentions.

Links usually come later, after trust is built.

It’s just how editorial relationships work.
