My reassessment sucked
I was recently reassessed and given the diagnosis of ASD L2 (which i had already been tested for), ADHD (which i was already diagnosed with), and CPTSD. I had to get reassessed due to disability needs and i my parents lost the paperwork for it and the place i got it from no longer exists and the assessor wen AWOL long ago.
I was able to land the diagnosis i needed, which is thankful, and the place i went to get reassessed said they did adult testing. “Lucky me”, i thought. But reading the diagnostic assessment confirmed what i knew but also mortified me.
The assessor claimed I had good hygiene and was kept (i looked like i was homeless) and that i was emotionally lacking. I have been told by several members of my community, my family, and friends that I have insane levels of empathy (the assessor claimed i didnt) and that i have really good emotional intelligence (assessor claimed i didnt).
The testing was also strange. They had me describe/read a wordless book about magical flying frogs, play with toys, take a Rorschach test, and an IQ test. This told me that they really only knew how to test children for it but didnt have any of the necessary tools to test adults for it.
I understand that its more difficult to test adults for it due to social and emotional development through childhood, but it feels to me that, if they claim that they test adults for it that they should have all the tools for it.
This was a vent. Thank you for making it to this point.
