Start painting furry style

Hi everybody!

I am new to furry stuff, I came here because my partner is into furry things. I want to paint us as animals for his birthday (and I want it to be spicy lol). I do paint from time to time but more in a realistisk style, so painting in a spicy furry comic style is really new to me. Do you have any advice on how to start? Are there guides? Any mistakes to look out for? A way to think?

Don’t know if anyone can help me with this, maybe I should just start trying. But some support and encouragement would be nice!
