What is the best beginner country to start with?

Discussion

In my opinion, Maratha Confederacy is the easiest, but also the hardest and i will explain why.

Why it's the easiest: You are away from major powers and you start your game already being at war with the Mughal Empire, which at the start of the game, is pretty weak and you can conquer it pretty fast if you keep the taxes low and spam militia in every conquered city. You have many harbours in India and you can make plenty of money by trading and also the subcontinent is moderately self-sufficient. It's easy to defend and nobody can wage long wars against you, because you are so far away. If you get the "ball rolling" so to speak, you can easily roll through India to Persia and consolidate in Persia before going through the Ottomans, because they are constantly at war with russia.

Why it's the hardest, or one of the hardest: Trade routes are easily plundered especially by european powers and europes wars and blockades on eachother really affect your income. You kinda have to defeat to Mughals to secure safer and steadier income. Also, the British like to invade your capital suddenly, so you have to keep a big navy (also because of trade routes) and army tied there, which complicates your own conquests and income stability also. The biggest minus is the dependancy on sea trade routes and their vulnerability.

I'm curious to hear your opinion on the easiest and hardest countries and why and also possible counterarguments about my listing.
