Tank Ideas

So my 30 gallon tank has very few fish following my bettas death(Was most likely internal failure),and I am looking for a new community setup I currently have 2 kuli loaches so very understocked currently.I was thinking Some Pearl gouramis as in a pair of 2 but I am very open to suggestions, I would also want to know what fish I can put with them.Setup is 30 gallon long(kinda but its from the 2000 so not these standerds)I have a 40 gallon filter a high power airiator mostly artficial plants though im adding a pothos and some crypts and all of my rocks are harvested from lake ontario(Yes they are disinfected).
