People on social media who can't take a joke
I just saw a silly meme about salt expiring. The comments are full of people over and over again explaining that it's the plastic container that expired.

Thank you for the 4000th comment of the same explanation.

It's a joke. No one is mad that their salt "expired".
People on the internet with their desperate need to show you how much knowledge they have at the cost of everything else annoy me.
Then you have the people who get offended by everything. Someone was once offended by someone laughing at their puppy running around and running into a wall. They were offended because laughing at the puppy probably hurt the puppies feelings. Funny Animal videos bring out some of the most joyless people in existence.
I find memes with scenes from the movie Precious funny. People in the comments will talk about how "people wouldn't be laughing if they knew what the movie is about." It's a movie. It's fiction. It's not even based on one person's story of abuse. People are taking the scenes out of context because out of context they can be humorous. Get off your soap box.
You see a funny video online, someone in the comments "she died three years later. I can't believe people are laughing at a dead woman." Her being dead has nothing to do with the video. That's actually a separate peeve of mine. Seeing R.I.P. over and over in the comments of a video where a dead celebrity is featured. Especially if they died years ago.
It's weird because sometimes the comments are much funnier that the post. But sometimes the comments of funny videos or memes are just super serious and sometimes full of anger. I wish people could just laugh sometimes. Not everything needs to be teachable moment.
