Shout out to Zane Grey, a king of names.
Been doing some name research lately at BehindTheName.com and realized that Zane Grey, the early 1920's western author, is credited there with innovating/popularizing 2 first names.
First is his own pen name, Zane. Zane was his middle name, adopted from his mother's surname. Before this, 'Zane' was almost exclusively a surname in the Anglosphere.
Second is the name Daren. He used it as a character name, possibly as a variant of Darian/Darrell.
Bonus shout out to his parents who gave him the first name Pearl. Wikipedia speculates it's in reference to the 'pearl gray' clothes Queen Victoria wore, though the source isn't clearly cited.
Bonus bonus shoutout to his mother's family who managed to get his whole town of Zanesville named after them.
