Studying in France next year, where’s the best place to go?

Im an exchange student going to study in France for a semester in 2027. I’ve been given a list of universities and cities available to me and I’m really struggling to narrow the list down. I’m looking for a city that has a warmer climate, things to site see, not too busy but there’s also liveliness and things to do.

Here is a list of the cities:

Angers

Bordeaux

Normandy (Carn/Le havre)

Paris

Lille

Nice

Pau

Cergy-Pontoise

Lyon

Nîmes

Strasbourg

At the moment Im drawn to Nimes, Nice, Pau, Bordeaux and Strasbourg. I’d love to hear some insight from either exchange students or locals about your experience, what its like living there, cost of living etc…! Thank you!
