anyone else think housing was about ~20 years too late?
Title basically
It occurred to me the other day that housing would've been a massive hit had it been released sometime around 2005-2006 when the game still had a strong/lively ingame social scene - basically when the ingame "community" aspect was at it's absolute peak. Having housing, neighborhoods, endeavors, etc back then would've complimented the strong (at the time) "community" aspect nicely
Fast forward to 2026 and the playerbase has been anti-social for years and besides "WTS" stuff and occasional politics slop, almost no one ever talks or says anything in chat. And while this particular sub tends to be big on housing, I notice the much wider/larger general public is currently MUCH more concerned about pruned watered-down classes and the unpopular addons disaster - the lack of hype for the expansion is noticeable
Thoughts?
If you are an older or longtime player like me that played in those early years and actually experienced the lively/thriving ingame social scene firsthand at the time, you know exactly what I'm talking about... rip people being social ingame 😢
