Best (affordable) camera for tiger safari in India?

Camera Buying Advice

Does anyone have any advice for a complete beginner on which affordable camera I could buy for an upcoming trip to India where the main (only) focus is seeing wildlife?

Phones aren't allowed in the national parks, otherwise I'd just use my phone for pictures.

I literally know nothing about cameras so any help much appreciated.

I'd ideally spend no more than £300 It needs to be idiot-proof and very user friendly! I'd like it to take videos too I'd like to be able to connect it to my phone/Google Photos Chargable Something I could use in the future for social media content would be a benefit UK based with shipping I don't mind if it's new or refurbished - but would love advice on what's best!

(1) Budget: Up to £300, country: Scotland, and currency: £GBP:

(2) What equipment, if any, you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs? I only have a phone

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot? Animals

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both? Both!

Thank you so much!
