Whats a good temporary job I could take to get me established in a new city?

Live in a small poor town with my parents at the moment, utter shithole. Want to get out as soon as I can. Moved back with them last year and spent months trying to get a graduate job to no avail so I'm trying a different strategy this year.

I've started doing freelance video editing. In the process of setting up a platform and I'm doing free work for some of my friends to get a portfolio going. My eventual dream is to be doingthat full time, but right now I'm kind of in survival mode and just trying to find a way out ASAP and get somewhere with better prospects. I know the rents are crazy at the moment but I'm willing to live with flatmates and work potentially shitty jobs to make it work at first.

Ideally something I could shrink down the hours of after a while so I can shift focus to freelancing once I get settled in.

Any thoughts?
