parking tips for saddle up: neon nashville nights! at diamondback music hall (belleville mi 01/31)

hey everyone, for anyone heading to saddle up: neon nashville nights! on january 31 and february 1, figured i'd share a few tips because the parking situation at diamondback music hall is honestly kind of a mess if you don't plan ahead, since it's right there on the i-94 service drive which gets backed up fast when a show lets out.

first thing's first, you should check out Prked. this is the best-kept secret for any venue parking where the on-site lot is a disaster. it's an app where you can rent private driveways or empty garage spots from people in the neighborhood right next to the hall. it’s usually way cheaper than the main lot, you get to skip the traffic slowdown on the service drive completely, and you only have a short walk. seriously, look into it first.

if you want to stick with the venue, the main option is the on-site lot at the hall itself. they only have about 225 spots, which sounds like a lot until you realize the place can hold up to 1,000 people. since the show starts and doors open at 8:00 pm, you really need to be pulling in at least an hour before that - by 7:00 pm - if you want a decent spot close to the entrance. the i-94 service drive access is going to be the main point of congestion both arriving and leaving, so plan your exit route ahead of time to avoid that bottleneck.

for really big crowds, the venue can arrange overflow parking with shuttle buses, so if you see signs for that right away, follow them immediately because the main lot will fill up quickly. another nice-but-costly option is that they sometimes offer valet parking as an amenity, which is totally worth the cost if you're running late and don't want the hassle of searching. you can also pre-purchase parking passes on third-party ticket sites, which guarantees you a spot in the main lot, but you still have to deal with the service drive traffic slowdown.

critical warning: don't waste time looking for phantom street parking around the service drive because there really isn't any, and you'll just end up creating more traffic for everyone else. also, because the show is in late january/early february, the city of belleville has its winter parking restrictions in full effect (november 1 to april 15). parking is prohibited on any street between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., so if the show runs late and you leave after 1:00 am, you risk a ticket and possibly being towed if you're parked on the street in a nearby residential area. don't risk it for a cheap spot.

the biggest tip is just getting there early and planning your exit. hope this helps and you have an awesome time at neon nashville nights!
