Katana Suggestion Help

I'm looking to pick up a Katana as a practice/scratch amp, but had a few questions and am looking for some guidance. I'll be using this purely for low volume practice and already have 2 other rigs for live playing. I don't need a huge selection of voicings and effects, nor would an effects loop really matter. I've also consideeed using it for scratch recordings where I could mess around through the amp but dump a signal into a DAW using a Scarlett 2i2 for the interface. I just didn't want the hassle of micing an amp every time I want to lay down some ideas and even the tinyist bit of latency drives me crazy when I'm messing around. The amp would purely be used to play some ideas and hear them, but also lay down a basic scratch recording and absolutely not a finished track. Also, as far as the inputs go, are these wet or dry in regards to effects applied? In this situation, what would this community suggest? I've got some post-holiday rewards points burning a hole in my wallet and they need to go lol.
