How far can you push with professional teeth whitening?

I've always had beige-toned teeth (26M), and I really want to change that. I know teeth whitening isn't always effective and needs to be done multiple times before seeing good results. My question is: how far can I push it? Where I live, we don't have Crest. My plan would be to get professional whitening done 2–3 times (every few months). I already did professional cleaning (I regularly go to the dentist)
