Can a dood chill in public?

We’re very close to getting a mini goldendoodle.

We’ve always had this dream of being one of those people you see at breweries or outdoor restaurants that has their dog laying politely beside them.

Our previous dog (an Eskipoo) count absolutely not do that. He was too excited to see people and too anxious about other dogs.

I feel like it’s usually bigger dogs that I see well behaved in situations like this but maybe that’s not the case.

Is this dream plausible with a mini doodle? What would you do to train or otherwise set a puppy up to be comfortable in this setting?
