Fresh grad enquiry

Aspiring fresh grad PM here!

I recently accepted an offer for an associate entry-level PM role at a certain homegrown tech company that everyone in SG knows, and pays 5k. I've still got a semester in uni left so I'm counting myself lucky to land a role before grad, and that my internships paid off. My understanding for the usual track is associate PM -> PM -> Senior PM -> Team lead etc.

Want to ask:

  1. How does salary increment work in tech companies? I googled for average salary in sg and it says "100k-150k, with senior roles going up to even 200k", and I can't wrap my head around how it can go that far and fast. How does it work?

  2. What's the game plan? Do PMs just job hop a lot, or they get promoted/salary increments very frequently in the company?

  3. Any tips on thriving as a PM in SG for the long term? I understand I'll have to work transnational with SWEs from overseas as well

Disclaimer: I understand this post might seem I'm solely focused on the money aspect of the role, but at my current stage in life, I'm ready to bust my a$$ & be rewarded for it (and there's loans to pay off). plus I'm really just curious and want guidance on this matter. Just trying to get a sense of how it is before I start!
