Pakistan’s Laws on Cyberbullying and Cyber Harassment

I want everyone to please go through this and understand how cyberbullying, online harassment, threats, humiliation, doxxing, sexual blackmail and defamatory posting can land someone in serious legal trouble in Pakistan, that the affected contestants can apply:

1. ⁠PECA - Section 20 covers offences against dignity of a natural person which is used for online defamation/false accusations, humiliation posts, smear content, etc. Penalty can include up to 3 years and/or fine

Section 21 - Offences against modesty of an adult person / minor Used for sharing or threatening to share private images/videos, sexual humiliation, etc. 

2. Pakistan Penal Code - added when threats/defamation escalate

Even when the feud is happening online FIRs often add PPC sections to: PPC 506 - criminal intimidation (threats) Basic threats- up to 2 years; more severe threats can go up to 7 years.  PPC 499/500 - criminal defamation Often added alongside PECA 20 (as in online defamation)
