Was I being CREEP

So I have a huge crush on a girl from my college. I’ve known her since 2nd year, we were in the same club but different verticals, both Jt. Secys. Back then I didn’t approach her because honestly I didn’t know how to pursue someone.

After the tenure ended, I realised I missed her more and decided to try talking to her. Initially our conversations were mostly about academics and college stuff. One thing to note: "she never replied instantly. Later she told me her notifications are off, so I accepted that"

At one point she stopped replying and I assumed I was being ghosted. She’s an introvert, barely comes out of her hostel room, so I almost never saw her. Then one random day I saw her and it honestly made my whole day my heart racing, brain gone, everything. I panicked and over-apologised for nothing. She replied saying she had just forgotten to reply, was busy, had another account, etc. I thought we are at good terms, After that, I deliberately slowed down. I stopped texting her directly and just liked her stories, replied to posts in a light, funny way. Once she posted a story wearing a blue lehenga on a boat she was looking unreal and looked like goddess itself have made her with divine hands and I replied with something very simple and non-flirty.

Then one night we gossiped a lot and for once she was replying instantly. It felt amazing. Later, out of curiosity (and stupidity maybe), I stalked her on social media and on her school account found a really cute school-time picture of hers. I sent her this: Me: “I was searching for modern innovators and tech founders and came across this” (sent her school photo) “I searched this innovator on ChatGPT and this is what it said” (a sweet/funny description I generated using CHATGPT) She replied: Her: “Tum apne kaam se kaam rakho naa. Mujhe apne baare mein maloom hi hai. Tum kyun bata rahe ho?” After that, I felt completely shattered. Like my body literally just shut down. I genuinely didn’t intend anything creepy or disrespectful.

So my question is: what exactly did I do wrong here?
