Fatshark HDO+ fan

My HDO+ goggles are great except for this monster screaming fan. On all the time, no speed settings or power button like the hdo2s. I've unplugged it but instant fog machine so back on it goes.

Has anyone replaced the actual fan itself with a higher quality blower of some kind? There must be ball bearing fans that could fit but I'm not sure exactly. It's a 12v fan in there but im pretty sure its only getting 2s via regulator. Any input appreciated
