My pc occasionally turns on but no display.

What the title says. My pc every once in a while turns on and it goes through boot(debug lights go on and then off as it does when it boots with display) but screen is off and I have to tap the power button to turn it off and on again and when I do that it always turns on normally. What could be causing this?
