Second-hand Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)

I am not asking for medical advice.

My son likely has pink eye. We weren’t certain at first. The first 2 days he had flu-like symptoms (fever, congestion, runny nose) and some small cream-cheese like discharge from the corner of his eyes, but his eyes lacked that violent-looking “redness” you usually see in pink eye. Lo and behold we wake up this morning (day 3) and one eye is red, watery, and experiencing discharge. So, most likely pink eye for our little guy (we already called in eye drops from pediatrician, wish us luck).

Question: my wife and I are also currently experiencing flu-like symptoms (cough, sore throat, congestion, etc.). My guess is we got whatever he has, but will we also get red, watery, discharge eyes?
