[1.28] [Mostly Chernarus] Loot Spots You Might Have Missed! - Part 1
First, I recommend that you watch Wobo's newest video from today once it's released (will link it here in this bracket), on which I helped with research. While that also means that plenty of featured loot spots will appear in both the video and this post, I think it doesn't hurt to have better visuals and narration for some. In addition, you'll see the discoveries made by Wobo himself, which also feature Sakhal exclusive spots.
This post aims to include spots which didn't make it into the video while also working as a standalone so watching the video isn't mandatory.
Also, If you want to see more of the tool I've used in the pics below or want more info about how loot spawns work in general I'm sure you will appreciate Wobo's video from the 25th January.
So, over the past two weeks I've used DayZ's Diag Mode to hunt for hidden or just easily missable loot spots. In the past VPP's ESP tool showed me items in places I never expected them to be (including bugged ones) on my private server. That, and my OCD to meticulously check every corner, finally compelled me to learn how to visualize loot spots. While it definitely seems that there aren't many truly hidden spots anymore compared to the early days of the standalone (items under beds for instance) I still found plenty of noteworthy ones I bet many don't know about. As a side effect, what was also discovered were a good amount of bugged loot spots, sometimes in walls, furniture, the ground, etc... . Generally they would be easy fixes which makes it a bit infuriating that they still exist over multiple game versions.
Before I finally start, I would also like to mention that it can be very hard to discern if a loot spot is hidden to the average player...or not so much. After all, players loot differently, with different methods and at different speeds. Some showcased spots may sometimes be hidden by circumstances (e.g. opened doors). A few spots can be pretty noticable from a certain entry while hardly visible from the other. And I can imagine that, after a while, a good amount of players stop looting certain areas of a house/structure because in the past they never found anything there - even though the area does in fact spawn loot and they were just unlucky.
What I want to say is, since in many cases it was not easy to determine how hidden and missable a loot spot truly is, I opted to stay on the side of caution and thus also documented some more obvious ones. I hope that even if there are some people here who actually already know about the following listed loot spots, at least one or two will be new.
Let's begin finally.
Loot Spots at unexpected Locations:
Civilian airport (Land_Airfield_Small_Control). The only one on top of a (standing) locker so far.
Grey industrial Building (Land_CementWorks_Hall2_Brick). On the pipes.
Slightly less hidden Loot Spots:
Behind Doors:
Two-story wooden house with orange paint (Land_House_2W04_Yellow)
School building (Land_City_School). Classroom on the first floor.
On Window Sills:
School building (Land_City_School). On the first floor only I think.
Big railstation (Land_Rail_Station_Big)
Yellow orthodox church (Land_Church1_Yellow)
Slightly smaller white orthodox church (Land_Church2_2)
On top of Staircases:
Yellow house with pink roof (Land_House_1W07)
Loot Spots which feel like Oversights/Mistakes/Bugs:
Final Words
Since unfortunately only 20 images can fit in one post, that's it for now. A part 2 will follow very soon, probably tomorrow or even today.
I would also like to clarify that I didn't have enough time to verify that every loot spot indeed spawns loot on a vanilla server, only some were seen working in action. If you, during your travels, find loot at any spot shown in this post I would appreciate a quick comment to confirm that they are functional. Also, most screenshots are from buildings in Chernarus. There's a chance the same building might have different spots on Livonia or Sakhal. I'll check all shown loot spots on Livonia later this day.
Apart from all of that, feel free to share good spots you didn't see on my list or ask any questions you might have. I'll be delighted to answer them!
