To the Fullerton Dads dreading the LAX drive: I finally found the "cheat code."
Robert here. Long-time Fullerton resident (over by Sunny Hills).
We all know the specific kind of hell that is the 5/91 interchange at 3 PM on a Friday. My wife and I love traveling, but I honestly dread the "vacation start" because it usually involves me white knuckling it to LAX, fighting for a parking spot, and starting the trip stressed out.
I finally decided to stop booking online and walked into that Expedia Cruises office in Norwalk (off Rosecrans) to see if they could do it better.
I met the owner, Alfonso, and I just wanted to give the guy a public shoutout here because he completely changed how we travel.
Instead of letting me default to the cheapest LAX flight I saw on Google, he:
- Routed us out of Ontario (ONT): I didn't even realize the flight options there had improved so much. We cruised against traffic and were through security in 15 minutes.
- Handled the "Door-to-Curb": For the return leg, he arranged a private transfer so I didn't have to drag luggage onto a shuttle bus or find my car in the economy lot.
It sounds small, but actually starting our vacation relaxed instead of angry at the 91 freeway was worth every penny.
If you guys are planning a big trip for 2026 and want to avoid the "Fullerton Commute" stress, go see Alfonso. He’s a local guy (lives in Yorba Lina) and actually gets the logistics of living in North OC.
10/10 recommend. Support local business and save your sanity.
