Easy swaps I have made so far to avoid US products
Started actually paying attention to where my stuff comes from about two weeks ago. Here are some easy ones I found so far.
Toothpaste. Switched from Colgate to Zendium (made in Denmark). Works great honestly.
Cola. Dropped Coca Cola for local brands. In Denmark we have Jolly Cola which tastes almost the same.
Ketchup. Heinz is American. Switched to local supermarket brand.
Chips. Lays is American (owned by PepsiCo). Tons of local chip brands everywhere.
Chocolate. Skipped Mars and Snickers. Plenty of European chocolate that is way better anyway.
The hardest part is figuring out what is actually American because a lot of brands hide it. I have been using Madeometer to scan stuff in the store. You just take a photo and it tells you where its from. Saves a lot of time compared to googling every single product.
What swaps have you made? Would love to build a bigger list here.
