Bass recommendation

Can you recommend a bass with a great tone versatility? I was thinking of getting a Schecter CB-5, but it seems to be more on the clanky-brighter side, and I’m looking for something more in the middle. Any recommendations will be appreciated greatly (€1500 or below)
