I'm so tired of not producing enough. What can I do?
My supply has started off low. For a number of reasons. It was just a bad start and I had some really stressful things happen to me in the first few weeks of my LOs life. It took a heavy toll on me.
I saw an LC. Took her advice and pump 10 times a day and added a power pump. I did this for five days. I saw an increase! I was at 21oz and my LO eats about 26oz. So I was glad I was getting caught up. On my best day I was pumping 2oz each pump with a 3oz here and there. Got 5oz out of a power pump once. It started to look good.
Then work decided to be a pain. Long story short, my work decided to blame me for some things that happened while I was gone despite me doing everything two months before I even left on maternity leave. They had plenty of time to call me before the baby got here. I even made a visit to make sure every thing was okay. None of it was my fault. But because there was no communication they decided it was. So for the last week I've been trying to fix it. From home.
The stress and feeling of betrayal hit me really hard. On top of that, my LO has been super alert and aware. He refuses to be put down. And he's eating like a madman. I had a hard time pumping. And when I did, I wasn't getting very much.
Things are better. Haven't heard anything from my work since I've sent them my fix. I'm back to trying to pump 8 times a day for at least 15 minutes. And I haven't gotten over 2oz all day. I am SO upset. I'm glad I'm still getting something and I still have some back up so he's still getting mostly breast milk. But I worked SO hard only for it to tank again.
I'm wondering if I should power pump again. But it seems so exhausting pumping 10 times a day. And then adding in that whole hour of power pumping. I felt like I couldn't do anything. I just want to pump enough for my baby.
