Friend won’t let me discuss relationship at all.

Hi all! I (26F) have had a friend (25F) for a few years on and off. But for the last three years we’ve been pretty consistently cool. For a few reasons, I’m starting to question my friendship with her and was wondering what you all thought about it.

  1. This is the biggest most concerning one! Firstly, she will not really listen to me talk about my partner to really any capacity. Now, let me lead by saying I’d get it if I was a “all about my guy” type of talker but I can assure you, I’m intentional in understanding that not every topic should be about a partner as someone who is already not a fan of such conversations. But around her, I’m hyper aware of it. If I do mention him, she will either not respond or change the subject without acknowledging anything I’ve said. To add, it’s not like my relationship is bad or anything. I can say I’m very happy with a very awesome guy. I’m not the kind of girl that even needs to discuss any issue we face with friends as they’re often super silly couple spats and solved within the hour. But I just find it peculiar that I seemingly am not allowed to mention him to her

  2. On the flip side of 1, she wants to tell me everything and anything about the current guy she’s talking to and expects my full attention and support on the matter, which I always try to consistently give. If I don’t respond to helping pick an outfit or a “how do I respond” text right away, she will blow me up until I do or become upset if I was too busy to give it my full attention

  3. She only ever seems interested in my sadness. If I’m at a low point, she’s open to giving support. But somehow, she never seems to support my highs.

I’m not sure if I’m overreacting. Open to your thoughts. Thanks for reading.
